About Center

KSU liver disease research center is multidisciplinary program that focuses on basic, translational, and clinical research in the field of liver disease. Since its inauguration in Sept 2009 it has been able to establish itself as the local and regional leader in the liver disease research filed. The Liver Center was established to conduct research focused on liver diseases, a major health issue in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Specifically, viral hepatitis as well as fatty liver disease, are the two most common health problems related to liver disease. Adding the burden of development of liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
